How To Draw A Skirt With Pleats For Beginner Artists : Very Easy

This will be a simple tutorial showing mostly with just pictures of how to draw a skirt.

This is a very fun thing to draw especially when you are creating the outfits for your characters in your painting or digital drawing.

Let's gather our supplies:

Sketchbook: This is our favorite brands are Canson and Arteza.
Penicls: Arteza has a great variety at affordable price. Artzmore also great.
Eraser: As a beginner, it is crucial to have a good eraser to remove all of your mistakes. Acurit is a 4-in-1 eraser, it removes colored pencil, charcoal and is smooth. A must have!

How to draw a skirt?

Step 1: Draw the bottom frills of the skirt starting from the top layer to the bottom.

Step 2: Start from the bottom up drawing the lines for the frills of the skirt.

Step 3: Shade in the folds of the skirt, to add the volume for the skirt.

Step 4: Shade in with one color the whole skirt

Step 5: Take the darker color and shade in the darks on the top and at the bottom of the skirt.

Step 6: Add highlights to the folds that are facing light.

Step 7: Add the highlights to the skirt and to it’s folds.
