This tutorial will have VERY detailed steps that you will need to follow. They are very simple and have been tried by number of beginners. They were happy with the result.
Now it is YOUR turn to try them!
These are a few supplies that you will need. Supplies DO matter, so make sure that you have them.
Let’s start with some basic shape to fit our drawing correctly on the sheet of paper when drawing a rose.
Draw a polygonal shape. This shape helps to plan the layout of the page. If the flower is open, it needs enough space.
Then draw rough outlines of the stem and the leaves.
Start outlining the rosebud. It will be where the middle of the flower will be.
Draw with very light lines, so it will be easier to make shapes more precise later.
Then start drawing petals from the center of the bud. The first one has a semicircle shape.
The second one covers it and the third one covers them both.
Gradually add petals moving around the rosebud with a light overlap.
Look closely to the reference image and observe how they look like, now what you think they look like.
Mark the middle line of the petal to understand its shape better. That way you will be able to create the volume of the flower.
It will make the rose look improved perspective-wise.
Gradually add petals moving around the rosebud with a light overlap.
Bigger petals slightly bend outside of the bud.
To make them look more natural you can make lines less even, a little shaky.
Mark the middle line of the petal to understand its shape better. Bottom petals bend even more.
Erase unnecessary lines. Draw more precise and detailed outline of the stem and leaves. Use eraser to make all lines slightly lighter before shading (if you want to shade.)
